DoH ! Bots Team

The DoH!Bots (Dortmund Humanoid Robots) is a team of researchers and students from Dortmund University. Our group took part in the humanoid league for the first time at RoboCup 2006, as part of the team BreDoBrothers which was a cooperation with Bremen University. This year both groups want to compete in the Humanoid league independently, due to the difficulties encountered in managing remotely a project where hardware development plays a fundamental role. Most of our members have a long history in RoboCup in the 4-Legged league, with the team Microsoft Hellhounds and the GermanTeam [1–4], becoming two times World Champion in the soccer competition (2004, 2005), two times World Champion in the technical challenges (2003, 2006), two times European Champion (20005, 2006), one time US Champion (2006) and one time Intercontinental Champion (2005). Our team is led by 2 PhD students of Computer Engineering, and is composed of 14 undergraduate students of Computer Science. The RoboCup project is carried on as a research environment for PhD and Master’s theses, and as a practical training for the students, which attend a 2-semesters long “project group” as part of their educational path.
